    Food poisoning on holiday

Hotels across the world should have the means to prevent all cases of food poisoning to those guests staying there on their holidays. If any food poisoning incidents occur, they might offer you a small sum of money as compensation but we advise that you do not accept this money until you have spoken to a qualified expert on the matter because they are likely to undervalue the potential claim you have against them or the tour operator you booked the holiday with.

    What causes food poisoning?

Food poisoning when you are on an all-inclusive holiday is more common to occur due your main meals being cooked for you and because in hotter climates, food is more likely to go off quicker.

The main cause of food poisoning is when meat hasn’t be cooked through properly, you’ll likely be able to see this if you cut open the meat to take a look. If you think you may have eaten meat that you can see is not cooked through properly, it might help your case if you could document it by taking pictures but first and foremost you should seek medical advise on what you can do to minimise the side effects you may begin to notice. Other causes of food poisoning includes food that needs to be chilled in the fridge but has been left out too long, food that has been touched by somebody who is ill and food that has been cross-contaminated by bacteria from surfaces, other food, and equipment.
